Soulsteeler
Soulsteelers
flame was enlightened in the year 2001 by Jeroen Dhondt (guitars),
Raf Nijs (keyboards) and Ken Van Steenbergen (bass).
In
2003 drummer Luc Seeuws joined the band. In this line-up the band
recorded a first demo “Cosmic Fire”.
With the arrival of singer Johan Debruyn in 2004 the sound was
complete, so the time was right to record a new demo called “Victims
of Power”.
After the release of our demo in November 2004 we "gigged"
through the year 2005 until januari 2006.
We decided it was time to start writing new songs, performances
were set on hold and a quieter period began for the band. Looking
back maybe not our best idea, because in summer of 2006 bass player
Ken (joined Black Jack and Killer) and drummer Luc (now in Crusader)
left Soulsteeler. Instead of calling it a day, we (Raf, Johan
and Jeroen) decided to go on.
In October 2006 we were glad to announce that the line-up was
complete again. Bass player Sus Kaethoven and drummer Bart Janssen
joined forces and gave a fresh shot to the band.
Line-up
2007:
Johan Debruyn (Vocals)
Jeroen Dhondt (Lead & rhythm guitars)
Raf Nijs (Keyboards)
Sus Kaethoven (Bass)
Bart Janssen (Drums)
In June
2007, after a whole lot of rehearsals, the Hype studio’s
were booked for the recording of the MiniCD “In
A Glow Of Crimson Red”.
This MCD is released under the bands own management and contains
five tracks
:
1. Break down the Walls
2. Somnyphobia
3. Prelude to Insanity
4. Crimson Red
5. Destiny’s at Hand
The
music of Soulsteeler can be described as a blend of Power- and
Progressive Metal, spiced with lots of melody and elements of
good old Heavy Metal.
