Dark melodic 80’s metal with a power-touch is the order
of the day at Soulsteeler’s "In a glow of crimson red".
So prepare yourself for heavy guitars with powerful riffs and
catchy solos, a rich picking bass and devastating, still rhythmic
drums on the 5 songs. The vocals are decent, still they miss a
little power and variation. in which they don’t succeed
to lift the sound to a higher level. The use of the keys gives
the whole a bombastic and dark feel, still I’m asking myself
if it’s really needed to their sound. Without them it would
sound more right in the face, in fact they prove that when the
keys are not used, or are more in the background. Still with these
short comments Soulsteeler have the power to rock and that’s
what it’s all about
